Barr Potter Joins Firm As OF Counsel and Stephanie D'Amato Joins Firm as Associate

Ingber & Associates, A Professional Law Corporation, is pleased to announce that Barr Potter has joined the firm as an Of Counsel attorney. Mr. Potter is a graduate of Yale University and Columbia University School of Law, and is a member of the State Bar of California and New York. Mr. Potter brings over 30 years of experience as an entertainment executive and attorney to Ingber & Associates.

In addition to his legal background, Mr. Potter has unrivaled expertise in connection with entertainment industry business affairs and business development, having held C-level corporate executive positions during the last 20 years. For the past 4 years he has been the CEO of MediaWide Consultants, an independent consulting company which provides business affairs and business development services for clients in the entertainment industry, especially overseas clients looking to increase their activities in the US market.

Mr. Potter will offer legal advice and guidance to clients of Ingber & Associates in connection with entertainment industry transactions. Mr. Potter provides clients of Ingber & Associates with extensive experience and relationships with major studios and independent production companies, and will advise clients of the firm in connection with all facets of the production, financing and distribution of live action and animated pictures. Mr. Potter has particular expertise concerning animation projects, and understands the unique financial and legal considerations arising in such transactions.

Mr. Potter was formerly the Chairman and CEO of Largo Entertainment, Inc., a leading independent foreign sales company involved in the financing, acquisition, production and worldwide distribution of feature films such as “G.I. Jane” and “White Squall” (both directed by Ridley Scott), “Grey Owl” (directed by Richard Attenborough), “John Carpenter’s Vampires”, and “Affliction” (written and directed by Paul Schrader, which earned James Coburn an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor and a nomination for Nick Nolte as Best Actor). Largo did business with every major domestic studio, and pre-sold its films to key distributors in every significant territory around the world.

Mr. Potter is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and has served several times on the committee that screens and selects the nominees for Best Foreign Language Film.

Mr. Potter’s practice as Of Counsel will focus on transactional entertainment law, while his business background in the entertainment industry will provide clients of Ingber & Associates with significant depth of knowledge and broad expertise.

Ingber & Associates is also pleased to announce that Stephanie D’Amato has joined the firm as an associate.

Stephanie D’Amato was formerly an associate of Freid & Goldsman, APLC, and is a 2007 cum laude graduate of Tulane Law School. Ms. D’Amato was a visiting student at UCLA Law School, where she was a member of the UCLA Entertainment Law Review. Prior to law school, Ms. D’Amato graduated magna cum laude from Loyola College.
